Clean Energy Transition – A Wake-up Call for Mexico

The recent record-breaking electricity demand in Mexico, driven by extreme heat and water shortages, serves as a harsh reminder of the urgent need to transition to green energy. 

As a nation rich in solar, wind, and geothermal resources, Mexico has the potential to be a clean energy powerhouse. Its largest source of clean electricity is solar contributing about 6%. Yet, the current reliance on fossil fuels and aging infrastructure has left the country vulnerable to outages and unsustainable energy costs. 

This is a wake-up call for businesses and governments worldwide. We must invest in renewable energy solutions to meet growing demand, reduce carbon emissions, and create a more resilient energy future.
