  • Gorumara Jungle Safari-

Gorumara National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Bengal. This is the ideal place to visit when you are staying at Hotels or Murti resort Gorumara. The famous one-horned Rhinoceros, which can be found in this national park covering 80 kms, is the main attraction. For jungle safari, there are four shifts.

  • Chilapata Jungle Safari-

Chilapata forest in Dooars is adjacent to Jaldapara National Park, which is part of the Jaldapara forest, split by the Torsha river in the West. The forest also hosts a wide variety of avifauna. The Chilapata Forest jungle safari is not based on fixed times or shifts. You can still see elephants, leopards, wild pigs, and one-horned Rhinoceros in Chilapata Forest along with 175 species of birds and 22 species of reptiles.

  • Jaldapara Jungle Safari-

This national park is located at the Himalayas’ foothills and can be found on the bank of River Torsha. It covers an area of 84 km of grasslands and riverine forests. An exciting elephant safari, offered in the morning to explore the vast grasslands of the park. There are also many other animals you can see, such as Rhino, Deers, Elephants, Bisons, Peacocks.

Best Time for Dooars Trip:

The Monsoon lasts from July to September, bringing 48 cm of rainfall to Dooars. Dooars forests remain closed between 15th June and 15th September. If you want to go on a jungle safari, it is best to avoid Dooars during Monsoon. The winter season in Dooars is from November to February. It can drop to as low as 5 or 8 degrees Celsius. Winter is the best time to visit Dooars as you will be able to see many migratory birds.
