Role Of A social skills group

The social skills groups in Chicago are small groups led by adults who teach children how to interact appropriately with their peers. They can help children learn conversational, friendship, and problem-solving skills. They can also help teach children to control their emotions and understand other people’s points of view. When children in the group may have difficulty initiating or maintaining a conversation. Or maybe they don’t understand body language. The group leader guides children through exercises to learn the skills needed to meet any social challenge they face.
