Tsunami warning in western Japan due to 7.5 magnitude earthquake

Two major earthquakes struck central and western Japan, causing widespread concern and tsunami warnings for coastal areas. The initial earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.5, struck near Anamizu in Ishikawa Prefecture. This happened at 4:10 pm. local time, its center was at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) immediately issued a tsunami warning for western coastal areas. The first waves occurred just 10 minutes after the earthquake, with reports of waves about 1.2 meters high in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture.
