In this video, We are going to discuss about Use of Gerund After Certain Verbs in Bengali, সহজে Gerund চেনার উপায় 

 

Rules of Gerund in English Grammar

 

Gerund Must Use in Sentence in Bengali

 

A) GERUND used after certain verbs in Bengali – 

 

1. APPRECIATE + POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES + GERUND

 

Example: I appreciate your GIVING me so much of your time.

 

2. EXCUSE, FORGET, PARDON + OBJECT + FOR + GERUND

 

Example: Forgive me for INTERRUPTING you

 

3. DISLIKE, LIKE (-ve), DREAD, FANCY, MEAN, INVOLVE, PROPOSE, RECOLLECTION, REMEMBER, RESENT, SAVE, STOP, SUGGEST, UNDERSTAND, INSIST ON, OBJECT TO – POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES/ PRONOUN ছাড়াও হবে ।

 

Example: He disliked WORKING late/ me/ my WORKING late.

I object to PAYING twice for the same thing.

 

NOTE: 

 

a) THE VERB ‘MIND’ – INTERROGATIVE/ NEGATIVE

Would you mind WAITING a moment? I don’t mind WORKING.

 

b) REGRET, REMEMBER, FORGET – এর সাথে আগের কাজ বোঝাতে GERUND

I regret SPENDING so much money.

 

 

B) NOUN COMPOUNDS – 

 

NOTE: পেশা, শখ – ইত্যাদি বোঝাতে 

 

Example: School Teaching, Bookselling
