Morris Chestnut takes on the role of Dr. Watson in “Watson,” Flixtor, while Lucy Liu previously portrayed him in “Elementary.” This new series is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and picks up six months after the tragic death of Sherlock Holmes, who was killed by the sinister Professor James Moriarty. Although Chestnut is more than capable in the role, the story starts off a bit rocky with a confused pilot and some forced references to Sherlock lore. The show kicks off with Holmes’ death, leading to Dr. Watson waking up from a coma after a failed attempt to save his friend, now dealing with a traumatic brain injury. Following Holmes’ wishes, Watson heads back to Pittsburgh to establish the Holmes Clinic at the city’s biggest hospital. Alongside a team of young doctors, he dives into unique cases, allowing him to channel his inner detective.
