Most small motors for household appliances, microwave oven transformers, TV degaussing coils, and oil-immersed distribution transformers are currently the three most widely used and most mature areas of enameled round aluminum wire.

The conductivity of aluminum is lower than that of copper, so to achieve the same performance, the volume of the winding will be larger than that of copper.
