Dr Calcaterra has over 30 years of experience working in the field of medicine.

 

He graduated with honors from Sapienza University’s School of Medicine in Rome, Italy, with a medical degree. Later, in 1997, he completed a General Surgery residency at the same institution, where he engaged in investigations into the effects of dialysis on surgical patients. Following the completion of his general surgery residency at Saint Raphael Campus-Yale New Haven Hospital, the doctor finished his Ph.D. thesis in 2000. After then, Dr. Calcaterra studied at the University of Miami. He finished a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery there before completing a fellowship in aortic surgery at the Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. He has board certification in both general and cardiothoracic surgery today.
