Here, we will introduce three basic cleanroom filters

1. Pre-filters

Generally, these will remove larger particles before they enter the HEPA and ULPA filters. Using a pre-filter is also a good way to extend the life of the HEPA filter because it can reduce the workload of the HEPA filter. If your filtration system has a pre-filter, it is best to replace it six times a year or every other month. It will keep everything in your filtration system running smoothly and ensure that none of the cleanroom system components that pass the pre-filter experience excessive contamination.

2. ULPA filters

The Ultra-Low Particulate Air filters function similarly to a HEPA filter but are more efficient. It can remove 99.99% of 0.128µm or larger particles. Since the function of ULPA filters is similar to HEPA filters, the maintenance and replacement procedures are roughly the same. The real difference is that ULPA filters are usually much more expensive than HEPA filters, so your maintenance plan is more important. Therefore, make sure to schedule regular maintenance and keep leak tests and leak repairs.

3.HEPA filters

The Cleanroom HEPA filters can remove 99.99% of 0.3µm or larger particles. Perhaps the most popular option, if properly maintained and in the right environment, the life of these filters can last seven years.
