How to recycle empty plastic shampoo bottles?

How to recycle shampoo bottles in 3 easy steps

While all of our PET Shampoo Bottles (except caps, lids and pumps) are recyclable, it’s not as simple as throwing the empty bottle in the recycling bin.

Instead, there are several steps you need to follow to make recycling shampoo bottles possible ……

First: Make sure that HDPE bottles can be recycled as intended. So start by sorting all white bottles as they can be recycled (think white milk bottles). We are working to make our blue bottles, caps and pumps recyclable by 2030 or sooner.

Next, remove the casing from the white HDPE bottle because it is not recyclable.

Finally, rinse the bottle thoroughly to remove any shampoo left in the bottle or around the bottom.

Do I need to rinse the shampoo bottle before recycling?

It is a good idea to rinse the shampoo bottle before recycling. And, many recyclers will recommend that you do so. The problem, however, is that rinsing it shouldn’t be too thorough. A little rinsing is all that is needed. You don’t have to focus all your energy on making sure the bottle is sparkling clean.

Amazing ways to reuse old shampoo bottles are as follows.

This section is a fun part of learning about the creative things you can do with your old shampoo bottles. Your empty shampoo bottles don’t have to make up the trash in your home; you can do a lot with them.

1. Make a writing container for your child

For your children, you can make a writing container for them. This will allow them to keep their writing materials in one place. This way, you will reduce the possibility of losing writing materials.

If you want to do this, all you have to do is follow the cleaning process explained above. After rinsing and drying, you can cut the upper part. Then, you can design it the way you want.
