Jaw Couplings

A jaw coupling, also known as spider couplings, is a type of general purpose power transmission coupling that is used to connect two shafts together and also can be used in motion control (servo) applications.

Jaw Coupling are composed of two hubs with serrated jaws that fit together, and a flexible rubber element (referred to as a “spider”). Jaw couplings are often used in applications where the shafts need to be connected in a way that allows for some misalignment or movement, such as in motors, pumps, and other rotating equipment. They are also commonly used in conveyor systems, as they can help to reduce noise and vibration. Jaw couplings are relatively simple and inexpensive, and they are often preferred over other types of couplings due to their low maintenance requirements and durability.
