Nasya Treatment
Nasya treatment, also known as Nasyam or Nasya karma, is an Ayurvedic treatment in which herbal medicines or oils are applied through the nasal. The purpose of this therapy is to balance, nourish, and purify the nasal passages, sinuses, throat, and head area. Ayurveda employs many sorts of nasya in ayurveda to address certain health issues. Nasya comes in a variety of forms, some of which are:
1. Pratimarsha Nasya: A regular practice of infusing warm medicinal oil or ghee drops into each nostril to cleanse the nasal passages.
2. Navana Nasya: The administration of huge amounts of herbal juices, oils, or decoctions through the nostrils to cure certain health issues.
3. Avapeeda Nasya: A powder-based treatment that cleanses the nasal passages with dry powdered herbs or therapeutic powders.
4. Dhuma Nasya: Inhaling smoke produced by the combustion of medicinal plants to cure respiratory and sinus problems.
5. Pradhamana Nasya: Treating headaches, sinusitis, and allergies by blowing pharmaceutical powders into the nostrils using a tube or pipe.
6. Bruhana Nasya: The use of medicinal ghee or oil to nourish and lubricate the nasal passages.
