New Rules For IPL Season 2021

New Delhi : The governing body of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has decided that the last two matches of the league stage will start simultaneously at 7.30 pm (Indian time). One double header match (two matches a day) is usually played in the afternoon and the other in the evening.

As per the rules till now, the afternoon match starts at 3:30 pm Indian time, while the second match is played from 7.30 pm. Both the matches will be played together in the evening to prevent any undue advantage of either team. “For the first time in the history of the IPL, the last two league matches will be played together before the Vivo IPL 2021 playoffs,” BCCI secretary Jai Shah said in a statement.

According to the schedule, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Delhi Capitals. “On the last day of the current season’s league stage (08.10.2021), instead of an afternoon match and an evening match, both matches will be played simultaneously from 7.30 pm (Indian time),” he said.
