Why open architectures matter in defense programs

Communities of practice have emerged to speed this work, and many teams align their designs with a Modular Open Systems Approach (Mosa) to formalize governance, partitioning, and interface stability. The goal isn’t to freeze technology; it’s to stabilize the boundaries so technology can move independently inside them.
