Rotary Tillers

Rotary Tillers

Agricultural rotary tillers, also known as rototillers or rotary cultivators, are farming implements used for soil preparation in agriculture. They are designed to break up, loosen, and aerate the soil, creating a suitable seedbed for planting crops.

Agricultural rotary tillers consist of a rotating shaft with multiple blades or tines attached to it. The shaft is powered by a tractor’s power take-off (PTO) system or an independent engine. As the tiller is moved forward, the rotating blades dig into the soil and pulverize it, breaking up clumps and incorporating organic matter.

The rotating blades or tines of the tiller break up the soil into smaller particles, facilitating better seed germination and root establishment. Rotary tillers can help control weeds by uprooting and burying them beneath the soil surface. This process disrupts weed growth and reduces competition with crops.
