What is “Cruise control” on a motorcycle?

Electronic cruise control exists mostly on modern motorcycles that have “ride by wire” throttles, though it also exists on older motorcycles (like older Gold Wings) that have traditional throttles — operating the throttle via a servo.

On a motorcycle, you’re usually (hopefully) having more fun. But there are inevitably boring bits of highway in between the fun bits. And the intention is usually to give your wrist a bit of a break, so you can shake the tingles or pain away, or maybe pick your nose briefly.
