How To Use Cylindrical 18650 Lithium Battery?

Cylindrical 18650 battery is being used in medical devices, power tools, e-bikes, and electric vehicle as a pack. To assemble specific numbers of 18650 cells in series and parallel into a bigger pack according to necessary power, and finally to ensue safety adding a BMS to it. The bigger the pack is, the more complex the manufacturing process will be, more labor will also be devoted into it. That’s why higher capacity 18650 batteries are requested to achieve same power with less quantity of cells

 

Ways to Prolong The 18650 Battery Lifespan

Temperature is the main factor impacting the life span of battery. 18650 cylindrical cells need to be stored in a dry, room temperature condition. At extreme high temperatures, there can be permanent change on electrode and electrolyte, and lead to the damage of the battery. At lower temperature condition, Ions move more slowly between the 2 electrodes, thus there is few electronic conductivity happens. The range of -20 to +50°C is sufficient but the most optimal storage temperature is 25°C.
